Theories on Why Vikings are 1-2 and Random Grades that I find Relevant

Theory 1
I've been rolling this around in my head as I've watched Favre's body language over the first three games, which has looked at times nothing short of complete and total hatred for his surroundings.  The theory is that Sidney Rice realized midway through the off season that his hip was messed up, but was told by Vikings staff that he must not let on to this lest it complicate the chances of Favre coming back.
Or, maybe Rice just is an idiot, waiting until midway through the pre-season to finally admit something was going to need to happen with his hip and to finally undergo surgery.
All the Vikings really cared about in the off season was getting Favre to come back though, otherwise we would be screwed (sorry T-Jack), so isn't it plausible that they would coerce Rice to take the stance that everything is fine until Favre is here and then just work with it from there?  I mean, announcers everywhere touted the Favre / Rice relationship last year as nothing short of a love story.  Can't you sense a little bit of a sense of betrayal looking in Favre's eyes when he's out there, like he was tricked into thinking he would have a decent receiver to throw to.

Theory 2 (more of an observation)
Garrett Hartley, the Saints place kicker, who knocked us out of the playoffs last year with a 40 yard field goal, kind of sucks.  He is 1-2 thus far from 30-39 yards and 1-2 from 40-49 yards.  I will cheer with great vigor for every missed field goal from him for the rest of his career.  If he is at a charity event where money will be given to a deserving cause based on his kick, and he misses it, I will act disappointed, but inside be happy for his failure and suggest they should find a better kicker next time.

Theory 3
Being that coming off of the bye week two weeks from now we play the Jets, Cowboys, Packers, and New England, with all of those games being away except for Dallas, I hope they find some magic in these two weeks.  So, I guess the theory is,  Favre will find a way to find a magical connection with his receivers in the next two weeks.

Grades

Adrian Peterson = A
He has run like someone who is very angry that the majority of people don't think he is the best back in the league anymore, which last year, he definitely wasn't.  Peterson has run for 392 yards so far with 3 TD's and has had to earn nearly all of those yards on broken tackles.  Plus, he hasn't done you-know-what a single time.

Brett Favre = C-
For how bad our offense has looked, I guarantee I would be more depressed about it if Jackson was at QB.  Favre has already thrown nearly as many interceptions as all of last year, but at least a couple of them weren't his fault.  Yes, a couple of them were pathetic, and they make me nervous, but let's just keep with the line, "They just need a little more time to get in sync," and pray that there's some truth to it.

Defense = A-
Very solid.  Gave us a chance to win both of the first two games if the offense could have provided anything at all.  With Griffin and Cook back today, the passing defense is looking better.  We should be in every game thanks to our defense.

Jim Kleinsasser = A+
Kleinsasser has been with the Vikings for longer than anyone and manages to find ways to get his name out there, even though it doesn't even seem like he has a position.  He's just kind of out there on the field.
